The Greatest Miracle

The greatest miracle is not
To make the sun stand still
Nor even fill a flour pot
Without the grain or mill
It's not to calm a raging sky
Nor walk upon the sea
It's not to make a fleece that's dry
When dripping it should be

The greatest miracle is more
Than opening blind eyes
Far better it, than to restore
And make the dead to rise
Great miracles of God these are
But just a glimpse they give
Into that one which is by far
Worth every life to live

When out of human life there shines
The glory of God's face
When in the soul are drawn the lines
Of heaven's matchless grace
When God His love to us imparts
Oh wonder at the sight
That God can place in human hearts
His love so pure and bright

The greatest miracle is this-
Unthinkable it be
That God Himself, the Lord of bliss
Should touch the heart in me
Having bridged the great abyss
Himself eternally
To plant in us Love's highest kiss
-His love beyond degree!

...Nothing to Fear... pt. 7

The next five weeks brought confirmation, conviction, and calling:
Medical missionary work actually works. Imagine. that. :)
God is faithfull
This is the way. Walk.

I couldn’t then know that I would return for the summer after four weeks at home. That I would be back in September. That I would see the Sierra Nevada's again in October. With.my.parents. :) It was not time to know that.

Challenges? Yes. That is nothing new or unusual. Nor will it be changing anytime soon.

If there is One who sees the sparrow when it falls; if that One keeps the stars in their courses, and has done so since they were created; if the Same can also keep every cell in creation under His watch care; then we have nothing to fear. End.of.story.

      Future? Nothing.
      Past? Nothing.
Present? Let a thousand tongues say it.

But we forget.

So we should sing it, pray in it, talk of it, and rejoice in His faithfulness. Not theoretically, but in reality: “God has been faithful to me…”

But still, we forget.

There is One who doesn’t forget though. He who created the sparrow knows where the sparrow is. He knows our frame. Every. Cell.

In the midst of whatever, unknowns, challenges-too-well-known, anything: we can have peace. Says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.      amen.

Anyone feel like singing? ;)
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

The future is, not ours but His,
The past His mercy holds
God reckons all that may befall,
Before it's tide unfolds

Though we can't see eternity,
Nor future moment now,
There's One above who's name is Love,
Who holds it all some how

We need not fear what lies unclear,
In future's time and space
Unless we let ourselves forget,
God's hand in history's trace

So then recount the vast amount,
Of mercy given you
For thus is shown and is made known,
God's faithfulness as true

We can behold God's hand of old
By inspiration's pen,
But this we must both know and trust
That He will lead again

For He who's led has also said,
My son be of good cheer
And daughter though you do not know,
You have nothing to fear
